Dr. Marie Goradia

Dr. Marie Goradia is a past president of Pratham USA’s Houston chapter where she has been on the board since 2010. She is the co-founder and mentor of Pratham Houston Young Professionals.

Marie received a Master’s degree in biochemistry and a PhD in molecular biology from Bombay University. One of four women to be selected by the Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) for their training school, Marie was later appointed as a research officer there. She did her postdoctoral studies at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and Columbia University in New York.

An active community volunteer, Marie serves on the boards of the Asia Society and MD Anderson Cancer Center and on the Asian Art Subcommittee of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Previously, she served on the board of the Indo-American Charity Foundation. She is also a member of the NSA Houston Speakers Academy, a fellow of the American Leadership Forum Houston, and an alumna of Leadership Houston.

A distinguished toastmaster, Marie is a member of the Woodlands Toastmaster Club and has been the president, area governor and mentor of numerous other Toastmaster clubs. She and her husband, Vijay, founder and chairman emeritus of Pratham USA, have two children, Sapphira and Kevin.
