THE RISE CAMPAIGN

Because Education Always Matters

Support the Pratham USA RISE Campaign

India’s lockdown will disproportionately affect children and youth who already experience barriers to quality education. During this uncertain period, Pratham remains focused on connecting with children in new ways to fulfill our mission.

The Responsive Innovation to Sustain Education (RISE) Campaign has been established to sustain our direct work in more than 5,000 communities and to ensure livelihoods for our 7,000 full-time employees—the backbone of our organization.

As of June 1, with the aid of 130,000 volunteers, we are pleased to report Pratham is reaching children in 12,000 communities. In addition, our vast digital repository is being utilized by 14 state governments and more than 225 partners. Your support today is crucial for this effort.

Please consider making a donation today. The price these children will pay if they fall behind is too great.

Turning The Education Crisis Into Opportunity

A recent article in Forbes, “Turning Our Education Crisis Into Opportunity: Lessons From High-Performing Nonprofits” provides a glimpse into how Pratham has adapted its learning model during the COVID-19 lockdown in order to continue meeting the educational needs of children in India.

Pratham’s critical investments in EdTech over the past few years, together with our well-established presence on the ground, have allowed us to pivot quickly and effectively to a remote learning model. Since the communities we serve have little or no access to technology, our team has turned to a variety of mediums—Zoom, WhatsApp, text messages, even phone calls—offering daily lessons and ensuring that children remain reassured and focused on learning.

Author Kim Starkey, who has examined numerous high-impact organizations, praises Pratham for its ability to “fare best in times of massive change and disruption.”

"As a father of three young children, I see how disruptive this situation is for their education. I am fortunate to have the tools to support my children and believe it's incumbent on me to help those who don't have the same access and will be hit hardest by this crisis. That's why I'm giving to the RISE Campaign."
