As 2025 comes to a close, we’re proud to reflect on the incredible momentum built by the Pratham NY Young Professionals (YP) Board in its very first year. Launched to engage the next generation of advocates and leaders, the Board quickly established itself as a dynamic force—creating meaningful spaces for community, conversation, and connection, all in support of Pratham’s mission.
During the second half of the year, the NY YP Board hosted three standout events that captured the spirit of what this group set out to do: bring young professionals together around shared values and a commitment to education.
Cultural Catalysts: A Panel with Creative Leaders
The YP Board continued its speaker series with “Cultural Catalysts,” an engaging panel held at IRL Art Gallery in the Lower East Side that drew young professionals and creatives from across New York City. Over 40 attendees heard from:️ Akshay Bhardwaj (Chef, Junoon), Natasha Das (Founder + CEO, Danarys), Simi Shah (Founder + CEO, South Asian Trailblazers), and Alexandra Shelley (Editor, Illuminated Manuscripts).
This event brought together panelists in creative fields who offered thoughtful insights on what inspires them, how they achieved success, and when they decided to take a leap of faith to pursue their passions.

Comedy & Cocktails: A Summer Sendoff
Over the summer, the NY YP Board brought supporters together for an unforgettable seasonal send-off on a private rooftop, offering a relaxed and joyful space to connect. The evening blended networking with laughter, featuring a comedy set by New York–based Shounak Vale, recently recognized by Forbes as one of 12 Rising AAPI Stand-Up Comedians to Watch. With skyline views and great energy, the event embodied the Board’s goal of building genuine relationships while advancing Pratham’s work.

Bright Holidays, Bright Futures
The YP Board closed out 2025 on a high note with a festive holiday event that welcomed over 100 Young Professionals from across the Tri-State area. The evening featured live sitar music, meaningful conversations, and an opportunity to learn more about Pratham’s impact from NY Tri-State Board Members—all while celebrating a successful first year. It was a powerful reminder of the growing community of young leaders committed to supporting education and opportunity.

In just one year, the NY Young Professionals Board has hosted impactful events, fostered new connections, and built a strong foundation for the future. As they look ahead to 2026, the Board remains focused on thoughtful programming, meaningful engagement, and continued growth—strengthening Pratham’s presence in New York and beyond.
