Pratham Readathon
Pratham USA’s Readathon isn’t just a fun summer activity—it’s a chance for kids to make a real difference while discovering a love for reading. Participants also gain a deeper understanding of the learning challenges faced by their peers in India. Since 2012, hundreds of children and young people have joined the Readathon each year, supported by their families and friends through donations.
How it works:
- The Readathon is open to children and youths aged 4-18. Younger children can participate by having a sibling, parent, or grandparent read to them.
- Participants read for up to 30 minutes every day for 30 days and gather pledges for every book they read. These pledges raise funds that provide access to vital learning opportunities to children in India.
- Parents, grandparents, and older siblings can act as mentors, helping young readers stay motivated. Adults can also participate as donors and sponsors.
