DC Young Professionals and SAPAN Host Night of Music and Theater
They sang. They spoke. Most importantly, they educated.
On December 16, 2015, Washington DC’s South Asian Performing Arts Network and Institute (SAPAN) presented a high-energy show entitled “Arts for Kids: An Evening of Music and Theatre.”
Since the SAPAN Performance Company comprises some of the area’s most talented musicians, actors and dancers, it’s no surprise the show sold out. More than 100 supporters packed the popular DC venue, Busboys and Poets, to be entertained by short skits, monologues and songs—all revolving around the topic of literacy and education.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes peek as SAPAN musicians prep for the show—can you recognize the tune?
The event was presented by the Pratham DC Young Professionals group, with all proceeds supporting our literacy programs in India. Ready to get involved? Learn how you can join the young professionals.
