DFW Hosts Inaugural Run/Walk for Education
On April 24, members of the DFW community gathered at McKinnish Park in Carrollton for the inaugural Pratham DFW Run/Walk. The event drew 160 participants, who competed in 1-mile and 5K races and enjoyed great food and family-friendly activities.
Through sponsorships and online pledges, the event, which was the vision of DFW board member Rohini Mehta, raised over $9,000 to support Pratham programs.
The spirited competition saw an impressive turnout of young children and teenage volunteers. Medals were awarded in various categories and age groups. The response was so enthusiastic that it is bound to become an annual DFW event.
