We are excited to be joined by Governor Wes Moore, 63rd Governor of the state of Maryland, who will deliver this year’s keynote address. Moore’s life and career have been defined by service. Before entering elected office, he was the CEO of the Robin Hood Foundation, built and ran a small business that helped underserved students navigate college, and led soldiers in combat in Afghanistan as a Captain in the U.S. Army. In 2010, Moore wrote The Other Wes Moore, a story about the fragile nature of opportunity in America, which became a New York Times bestseller. He went on to write other best-selling books that reflect on issues of race, equity, and opportunity.
Moore is a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy and College, Johns Hopkins University, and Wolfson College, Oxford, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar. Moore and his wife Dawn have two children: Mia and James.
This evening’s entertainment will be Jeffrey Iqbal, who has captivated audiences worldwide with his music, amassing millions of views on social media and appearing on TV shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and India’s Raw Star. He has also toured and performed alongside renowned artists such as A.R. Rahman, Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, and Atif Aslam. With his versatile voice, Jeffrey seamlessly blends music from the East and West, spanning from classical to contemporary Bollywood hits and English pop chart-toppers.
The evening will also feature a DJ set by the renowned ZEEMUFFIN. Prepare to be captivated by her electrifying sets, a vibrant fusion of global sounds – from hip-hop to Afrobeats – guaranteed to ignite the floor.
