Join us for the release of the ASER 2020 Wave 1 report, the latest iteration of our influential survey that provides estimates of children’s schooling status and basic learning levels for each state and rural district in India. Unlike previous years, the Wave 1 report was conducted by phone and is aimed at understanding learning opportunities rather than assessing fundamental reading and math skills.
The volunteer-driven survey reached 120,000 households in 17,000 villages across 30 states and union territories. Caregivers were interviewed about each five- to 16-year-old child in their household regarding the challenges and successes of distance learning during the pandemic.
The release of the results can be viewed live at 9:00 am EDT on our YouTube, Facebook, or Twitter. The 90-minute program will feature two panel discussions on topics such as lessons from school closures, remote learning, digital innovation, and the outlook for India’s education system.
