Fireside Chat with Pratham Leader Usha Rane

On March 20, 2016, former Pratham Austin President Vandana Kumar hosted a fireside chat with presentations that provided insight into how the donations we raise here affect education on the ground in India. The featured speaker was Usha Rane, Pratham’s director of content and training, who spoke about her recent travels across Asia and the US.

Usha has been part of the Pratham family since 1996, working tirelessly to improve India’s standard of education. The success stories she shared are a testament to the low-cost, innovative ways Pratham has engaged communities in broadening access to quality education for India’s children.

Austinite Kathryn Taylor, who had very little knowledge of Pratham’s work before visiting India in February, where she attended 11 program sites in and around Mumbai, declared herself “blown away” by our simple yet effective education techniques, noting that they far surpassed many efforts made in the American public school system.

The intimate evening ended with a Q&A session and a delicious dinner.
