The Pratham USA consolidated 2020/2021 report covers the unprecedented period of the pandemic and offers a snapshot of our community’s incredible resilience and shared commitment to India’s children. The extraordinary conditions brought about by Covid required us as an organization and as a community to learn new skills and take new approaches in pursuit of our mission. These lessons will allow us to address the learning crisis that is now ahead of us at scale.

RECIPIENT OF THE 2021 YIDAN PRIZE FOR EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT
Pratham CEO Dr. Rukmini Banerji was awarded the 2021 Yidan Prize for Education Development in recognition of her work toward improving learning outcomes. Established in 2016 by Tencent co-founder Charles Chen Yidan, the prize aims to build a global community committed to advancing ideas in education.

Manisha Bharti's appointment marks a significant commitment by the board to strengthening our US chapters while enhancing our brand, collaboration and impact globally. In Profile: Priyanka

After losing her father at the age of ten, Priyanka left school to find work.  She got a job at a hospital earning ₹3,500 a month. It wasn’t much, but it was a start. Then Covid threw her world into turmoil, heightening her family’s financial strains. “I needed to make more money, but I had no formal training. I was stuck,” she recalls. That’s when a coworker told her about Pratham’s Recognition of Prior Learning program.

Through our groundbreaking ASER and TaRL initiatives, Pratham supports governments and others to instill foundational skills, ensuring children everywhere have equal opportunities to grow and achieve regardless of their socioeconomic background.
