Established in 2016 by Tencent co-founder Charles Chen Yidan, the prize aims to build a global community committed to advancing ideas in education.

In Profile: Priyanka
After losing her father at the age of ten, Priyanka left school to find work. She got a job at a hospital earning ₹3,500 a month. It wasn’t much, but it was a start. Then Covid threw her world into turmoil, heightening her family’s financial strains. “I needed to make more money, but I had no formal training. I was stuck,” she recalls. That’s when a coworker told her about Pratham’s Recognition of Prior Learning program.
