Phoenix Launches Youth Initiative
The Phoenix chapter is proud to announce the formation of a youth group. Open to children ranging in age from 5 to 18, the group will increase awareness about child illiteracy and Pratham’s work while facilitating volunteerism in the local community.
More than 200 volunteers have joined together since January, to help collect donations and pack food boxes for the local Midwest Food Bank in Arizona and plan to have many more activities in the coming months.
An exciting collaboration is also underway with the team in India. The group in Phoenix will lend their talents to help develop educational content for Pratham’s Hybrid learning program, which uses tablet technology to inspire and engage economically disadvantaged children through self-directed learning. Tablets pre-loaded with quality educational content will be distributed in communities where Pratham works. The content will also be made available to everyone through open source platforms.
