Fareed Zakaria Joins the Board of Pratham USA

Pratham USA is pleased to announce that internationally acclaimed journalist and author Fareed Zakaria has joined our national board of directors.

Editor-at-large of Time magazine, a columnist for The Washington Post and a New York Times bestselling author, Fareed has been described as “the most influential foreign policy adviser of his generation.” Since 2008, he has hosted CNN’s foreign affairs show, “Fareed Zakaria GPS,” which brings viewers in-depth interviews with world leaders, newsmakers and analysts who examine the world’s toughest challenges.

Of his decision to join Pratham’s board, Fareed says, “Pratham works hard to address perhaps the single greatest challenge in India: education. And it does so with intelligence, effectiveness and integrity. I’m proud to be associated with it.”

Pratham USA’s network of 14 chapters plays a critical role in raising awareness and funds for Pratham’s education and vocational programs in India. Our low-cost, scalable programs address the country’s learning crisis and serve as a model for driving measurable change in the education system.

“It is an absolute privilege to welcome Fareed to our national board,” remarks Dinyar Devitre, executive chairman of Pratham USA. “Fareed is a big, bold thinker, and he will be a force for good in Pratham’s work to improve the basic learning experience of underserved students in India.”
