Pratham USA Earns Eighth Consecutive 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator

Pratham USA’s sound management practices and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it yet another perfect 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. This is the eighth consecutive year that Pratham USA has been awarded this distinction.

Since 2002, Charity Navigator has used objective, data-driven analyses to grant only the most fiscally responsible organizations the highest ranking. In 2011, the independent watchdog organization introduced 17 metrics focused on governance and ethical practices as well as measures of openness, into its methodology. These “Accountability & Transparency” metrics account for 50 percent of a charity’s overall score and reveal which charities follow best practices.

“The recognition from Charity Navigator is further evidence that Pratham operates in accordance with industry best practices, both in our fundraising and advocacy efforts in the US as well as our programmatic operations in India.,” said Pratham USA Chairman Deepak Raj. “Our 4-star rating demonstrates to our supporters that we take being good stewards of donor’s trust very seriously.

Only 3% of the 1.5 million charities evaluated have achieved four stars eight years in a row, indicating that Pratham USA outperforms most other US charities. This achievement is due to the tremendous work of our leadership, staff, volunteers and, of course, our supporters, who make our work possible.
