Pratham USA Earns Sixth Consecutive Four-Star Rating from Charity Navigator

Pratham USA’s integrity in accounting and fiscal practices have earned us yet another four-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. This marks the sixth consecutive year that we have earned this distinction and places Pratham USA in the top 4% of more than 1.5 million American charities.

According to Michael Thatcher, president and CEO of Charity Navigator, “Astute donors are yearning for greater accountability and transparency. Pratham USA’s consistent four-star ranking sets it apart from its peers and demonstrates its trustworthiness to the public. It puts Pratham USA in a preeminent group of charities working to overcome our world’s most pressing challenges. People can trust that their donations are going to a financially responsible and ethical charity when they decide to support Pratham USA.”

Since 2002, using objective analysis, Charity Navigator has awarded its coveted four-star rating to only the most fiscally responsible organizations. A total of 17 metrics focusing on governance and ethical practices, as well as measures of openness, are used to determine the rating. The “Accountability and Transparency” metrics, which account for 50% of a charity’s overall rating, reveal which charities operate in accordance with industry best practices and whether they are open with their donors and stakeholders. Pratham USA received an overall score of 98.23 out of 100.

“It’s important that we be good stewards of our supporters’ trust and that we’re using their donations wisely to accomplish our mission of ‘every child in school and learning well’,” said Deepak Raj, president of Pratham USA, adding, “This rating demonstrates to our supporters that we value good governance and financial accountability.”
