William B. Ogden Distinguished Service Professor of Economics, University of Chicago

Steven Levitt is the William B. Ogden Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago and the director of the Becker Center on Chicago Price Theory at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He was the 2003 recipient of the American Economic Association’s prestigious John Bates Clark Medal, given to the country’s best economist under 40, and was chosen as one of Time magazine’s “100 People Who Shape Our World” in 2006. With journalist Stephen J. Dubner, he co-authored the best-selling book Freakonomics and its sequels SuperFreakonomics, Think Like a Freak, and When to Rob a Bank.
