Pratham USA Readathon

About the Pratham USA Readathon

Pratham USA's Readathon isn't just a fun summer activity, it's an opportunity for kids to make a real difference while developing a love for reading and a deeper awareness of the educational needs of their peers in India – children like them, who despite sharing a universal desire for learning, often face vastly different circumstances. Since 2012, hundreds of children and young people have participated in the Readathon each year, and their families and friends have supported them by donating.

Readathon encourages children and youths aged 4-18 to read books while raising awareness and funds for Pratham. By getting pledges for every book they read, kids can help support their peers in India access critical learning opportunities. Children who are too young to read by themselves can have a sibling, parent or grandparent read to them. Adults can get involved as mentors, donors and sponsors. Sponsorship is also open to businesses and institutions.
